The Democratic Alliance has backed Durban's rejoining of the Blue Flag Programme. According to Geoff Pullan, Durban was the original SA city to join the Programme in 2002 but backtracked in 2008.

'We are really keen for the city to be a part of this international tourism marketing initiative," Pullan said.
